If I ask someone who supports my view, he may side with me. How can a person like this arbitrate between us? If I ask someone who differs from both of us, he will be equally paralyzed to choose between us, since he differs with both of our positions. And if I ask someone who agrees with both of us, he will be equally paralyzed to choose betweenus, since he agrees with both of our positions. Since you and I and every other person we might ask cannot decide, how can we depend upon each other to be right or wrong? Words are useful to argue with but they can never give bring you to the truth. All argument is relative. My response was simply that psychometrics might help understand who is truly wise. |
